HR Business Partner


Full Time: 37.5hrs per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer advice and guidance on Offer advice and guidance on HR and employee welfare matters such as maternity leave, paternity and other family friendly policies, occupational health referrals, counseling and general absence management
  • Liaise with external bodies such as Company Occupational Health Advisors, General Practitioners, local and international government departments and agencies as required
  • Ensure a constructive approach to employee relations, providing fair and consistent advice and guidance on disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Support Line Managers in the handling of disciplinary, grievance and capability cases, including investigations and hearings recordings and minute taking
  • Support Managers and the HR Operations team in the delivery of processes involving company restructures, change management and other organisation/staff matters as required
  • Ensuring that the HR Information System data is updated and maintained accurately
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices in the organisation
  • Assist in the writing and presenting of information over a wide range of HR related topics
  • Process employee changes promptly ensuring all documentation is completed and authorised. Such as maternity, paternity, payroll changes and inputting of new starters’ and leavers’ details
  • Keep up to date with information regarding developments in HR practice, employment legislation, CIPD guidance, CPD and sharing knowledge within the team
  • Take responsibility for External Inspections and check personnel files to ensure all checks have been received: e.g. references, CRB check, health check, qualifications, Social Care Council certificates. Driving Licences and chase any outstanding checks for existing staff
  • Comply with the housekeeping rules for HR files, ensuring files are structured and stored appropriately and in accordance with Data Protection principles
  • Work as part of the HR Team to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department and assist with all general HR activities as and when required
  • Work to deadlines and respond in a flexible way to the changing demands of the Group’s work
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in the work undertaken

Supervisor Duties

  • Provide leadership to members of staff
  • Ensure they are fulfilling their role
  • Deal with any areas of concern immediately and appropriately
  • Manage annual leave requests
  • Motivate, support and mentor staff when required
  • Lead by example

Additional Duties

  • The post holder will be expected to undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post
  • The post holder will be expected to ensure to comply with Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedure in all employment practices
  • The post holder will be expected to comply with the no smoking policy in place and ensure that Health and Safety is observed in the course of employment
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Agency, keeping the Director informed of work in progress and inform the Director immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint

Qualification

  • Must be CIDP Level 7 qualified
  • Good general standard of education
  • Experience in a managerial position desirable but not essential

Health and Safety Consultant


Full Time: 37.5hrs per week

Key Responsibilities

  • To liaise with a number of clients advising them on all aspects of Health and Safety, ensuring statutory obligations are adhered to and driving them forward to continually enhance their health and safety arrangements, demonstrating best practice, following up issues raised in a written report
  • To develop client specific Health and Safety Management Systems and to support and assist in the integration of the systems into the clients activities
  • Understand the customers’ diverse, specific business needs and giving guidance on practical solutions to meet those needs
  • To develop and deliver bespoke health and safety training packages and delivering accredited courses
  • To provide telephone / email advice and support
  • To update and maintain client records relating to services given
  • To provide any other reasonable duty as requested by senior management

Personal Qualities & Skills Required

  • Must have a full clean drivers licence
  • Willing to travel to various locations across the UK
  • Good communication skills both written and orally
  • Able to build good professional rapports with clients
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Good IT skills (particularly Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Flexible attitude to work arrangements
  • Attention to detail essential
  • Able to problem solve, giving clients solutions not problems
  • Must be well organised and disciplined and able to prioritise workload
  • Provide a professional image

Qualifications

  • CMIOSH or equivalent and preferably OSHCR registered
  • Diploma in Health and Safety Practice and management or equivalent
  • Good general standard of education
